Hey Mom,
Just thought I would pop in for a few minutes and let you know what’s been going on in the past 24 hours. On YouTube I have been talking to some people who are also going to participate in NaNoWriMo this year and we’ve created a collaborative channel where each of us is going to make a video each week. There are seven of us right now so every day there should be a new vlog post up. We’re taking ideas from John and Hank Green’s Vlogbrothers project and applying them to our channel.
For the month of November we are going to post videos on a given topic each week and let people who watch the videos, as well as each other, know what our ideas/thoughts/views are on the topic. We hope to get this channel up and running pretty soon so everything will be setup for November 1st (the 1st day of NaNo—my birthday, which I think is pretty cool). So I’ve been e-mailing back and forth with the other YouTuber that is acting as the head of the group…we’re like co-executives since we are the two taking this project the most seriously it seems. It’s been a challenge to get the others to respond and coordinate things.
Other than that, Vicki and I have the usual fall duties and monthly duties to take care of today—running errands, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. Oh yeah, I put a 9mm Hi-Point pistol in layaway at a local shop. I have been thinking about getting one for several years now and I finally got one set aside. I’ve had my concealed carry license for a while now, but I’ve never owned a gun. I’ve used 9mm and other firearms before of course…military training and overseas deployments. You know all about that stuff though.
The thing that really pushed mo to go out and get one set aside this time is that our van was broken into in the middle of the night last week. We think it’s the same guy who broke into our car two years ago and stole a bunch of stuff (credit cards, checkbooks, license, social security card—none of my things). The guy that did it had tried to get me to sell him my work shoes off of the front porch one day and I wouldn’t sell them…I needed them for work. Anyway, he came by that night and stole them off the front porch. After that we got a restraining order against him. After that was when he broke into the car and stole everything. He was eventually caught and spent two years in jail but was recently released. It just-so-happens that our van was broken into shortly after his release. Vicki saw him across the street a few days before the van was broken into. Coincidence? I think not.
I’ll let you go for now; I’m going to fix some breakfast. Talk to you later. Love ya.
