Hey Mom,
It’s been a few days since my last post but there have been some pretty big developments for Vicki and myself. Alexis hasn’t been feeling well for the past two days either; she had to leave early from church yesterday morning (Sunday October 16th). I taught a lesson during the last segment of church on the signs of the second coming of Christ. I have had a chance to talk with Vicki about my schooling and what needs to be done with it.
I haven’t given up on school altogether but I have decided to give myself a break and just relax for a while. I’ve been hard at work and school along with family and anything else that needed to be done for the past six years. I need a break as does my family. I need to be there while my children are working through their own schooling and needing help with learning the basics that will carry them throughout the rest of their lives and run into their children’s (our grandchildren’s) lives.
With the time I would have spent working on school work I am going to work on my writing and doing other things around the house. I know what you’re thinking, “won’t that just take up the time that you would be spending on school anyway? Then why take a break from school?” That’s a good point – the answer lies in the stress factor. I have been to worn down by the stress of having deadlines and getting through school that I was constantly worrying about what I was going to do and how I was going to do it. All this on top of actually doing the work for school.
Once we have some bills and things settled I am going to take some “fun” classes dealing with writing and developing my skills in that area. That is something I have wanted to do for several years but never had the opportunity to do. I have my bachelor’s degree and I can study the information in my books to further my understanding of the medical issues I deal with at work which will make me a better nurse and satisfy my thirst for furthering my education as well.
I think I’ve rambled on long enough so now I’m going to get off of here and do some work on my writing as well as get prepared for NaNoWriMo this year, which starts in about two weeks. Talk to you later.
