Veteran's Day

Hey Mom,

I know it’s been a little while since I updated you on the goings-on of that crazy thing called my life. Last night Vicki, the girls, and I all went out to eat at the new steakhouse called The Longhorn Steakhouse in Chillicothe. We waited for just over an hour to get a table. But I bet that was better than last Tuesday on my birthday. When we drove by the line was out the front door and down the ramp almost reaching to the parking lot. I think it will be similar to The Olive Garden and continue to be busy most of the time.

On the NaNoWriMo front I have fallen a bit behind on my word count lately. I need a swift kick in the bum to get myself back into gear. The collab channel seems to be doing well. We’re updating six days a week. Initially there were seven of us on the channel but as it turned out one couldn’t make it work (Sunday). But I think six new videos a week is still really good.

Today is Veteran’s Day of course, 11/11/11. That hasn’t happened in a thousand year and won’t happen again for another thousand years. I didn’t consider myself a veteran for quite a while and I’m still not sure when or how I came to the understanding and acceptance that I was one. I’d always thought of veterans as old men wearing military related hats with large bills that were flat and didn’t look at all right. These hats sat on the very top of their heads and looked as though a slight breeze could blow it right off. There are a lot of veterans like that out there, but there are also a large number just like me.

I’m going to go and find something to do with Sariah, writing, reading, maybe go to the store, or at least something to get out of the house for a while. Talk to you later.
